With Maluka you can add the finishing touch to your boho-style interior. The ceiling light fits particularly well in apartments that are furnished in natural tones and equipped with accessories made from plant-based materials.
For the bell-shaped lampshade, flat-rolled rattan fibers - an exceptional, rarely used material that is only used for this model in our range - are braided into a sturdy metal frame. The resulting airy pattern allows a lot of light to pass through from all sides and thus ensures optimal lighting of the room.
The rattan lamp is available in two different sizes. Size S is particularly compact and fits perfectly in small rooms or over a bedside table.
Mass weight:
(Diameter (at widest point) x height)
S: 25x35cm; 0.30kg
M: 35x45cm; 0.56kg
Please note that cables and bulbs are not included in the scope of delivery.
SOEJI products are artfully crafted unique pieces. Due to hand manufacturing and natural material variations, they may vary slightly in size, color and shape.
Main material: rattan
Rattan palms tend to grow in large quantities in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants because they take up space from other plants and drain many nutrients from the soil. The stems, which grow quickly without chemical additives, must be cut off regularly and, after the drying process, can be used as material for furniture and baskets. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable and abundant material.
Other material: metal frame
This lamp is handmade in Bali, Indonesia.
When selecting local producers, Soeji attaches great importance to fair pay and good working conditions. In the factories where they source their goods, they only work with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Since all work steps are carried out by hand, the production process causes hardly any greenhouse gas emissions. Soeji ensures all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
