SUNDA is no ordinary stool: Its seat is woven from recycled paper fibers – a material that's much more stable than you'd think and easily withstands all everyday situations. The solid Trembesi wood used for its frame also stands out from other tropical woods: It doesn't come from rainforests and, in addition to its sustainability , impresses with its exceptional hardness and robustness.

Because the woven seat is slightly elastic, Sunda is very comfortable and ideal for extended periods of sitting. This stool not only provides additional seating in your home, but also enhances it with its timeless design. The wood is simply finished with a transparent protective varnish to preserve its warm brown color. This allows Sunda to blend harmoniously into any environment.

Main material: Trembesi (rain tree/monkey pod wood)

Trembesi is also known as the rain tree and is widely distributed throughout Southeast Asia, where it often grows on streets or in parks. Because the tree is native to South America, no rainforest needs to be cleared for timber production in Indonesia. This fast-growing tree is mostly found in urban areas, where it was planted by humans as an ornamental plant. To limit its growth, the sprawling branches are regularly trimmed, and the wood is used for furniture production. Our Trembesi comes from East Java. The wood is relatively similar to teak in color and structure, but has a significantly better sustainability record.
